Amazing, Admirable, and what I want my son to grow up like. . .

Posted on March 30, 2011

Yes, I would have to say; that I pray my son Brayden will grow up to be such an outstanding young man as Joshua.  The whole family holds a special place in my heart, always have and always will.  They are my family.  I guess I should say they are my family from another family.  LOL  Cathy, Joshua’s mom and I grew up together.  Her mom and dad are my other parents whom I call Aunt Martha and Uncle Jimmy.  Cathy has a sister Cindy who unfortunately lives in Texas.  I was able to see her family this past winter with her two sweet babies.

Now back to the subject here!  I can’t believe these are Joshua’s senior pictures!  What happened!?  I remember when he was born!

He really really wants to be a fireman(not sure if that is proper name or if it’s fire chief or something like that).  He has an amazing heart for Christ and is one super outstanding young man.  He would make a wonderful WONDERFUL fireman or paramedic.  It takes a big heart and heart like Christ to yearn to help others and comfort them in times of their greatest need.  Saving lives and possibly bringing them to know Christ in their most devastating, troubled and scary moments of life.  We had a great time doing these pictures!  SO much fun at the fire station.  I’m like a little kid at a fire station, so excited and wanting to explore, listen to the scanner, and just being there.  If I had to choose someone I want my little boy to grow up to be like, it would be Joshua.

Take a look at them, I can feel the fun just looking at them!

Special-That’s what she is!

Posted on October 11, 2010

Well, I can’t believe it’s been 18 years.  I can not believe Ansley is graduating from high school.  It was only yesterday that she wanted to take me to show and tell when she was in kindergarten because I could “burp like a bear.”  I have watched all of these girls grow up and it went so fast.  Here it is 2010 and now Tom and I have three kids and they are older than what Katie, Ansley and Maddie were when I began keeping them.  I’ve spent many many hours, days and months and years with this sweet family.  They quickly became family.  I loved them dearly from the start.  I was there for many firsts, even first day of school(Kindergarten).  I was there taking pictures when Ansley went to kindergarten and Katie was in 3rd or 4th grade.  I also had many firsts with this family too.  Katie’s third birthday party was the first place that I drove to on my own after I got my drivers license.  There are so many memories and way way too many to list.

They are where I got my first hand experience with girls and drama.  Yeah, I’m a girl too, but I never really was much a “girlie girl” and I was far from dramatic.  I was the other end of that with being very quiet and shy.  (Until God delivered my soul mate, Tom, to me.  He  gave me a lesson in living in a big family.)   I was then forced out of my shell so to speak, or I guess you could say it was busted wide open.

Katie and Ansley still laugh and somewhat hold a little bit of the most loving kind of grudges.  They say that I used to laugh at them when they got hurt, but I never laughed if there was blood, missing limbs, or a lack of fingers or toes.  I couldn’t help but laugh, because they were so darn dramatic!  God, has a really big sense of humor, because now I have two girls who are VERY VERY dramatic as well!  Good thing I had so much practice with Katie and Ansley, and then there’s Maddie Moo, she was never dramatic.  Just go with the flow Maddie.  I am so very proud of the wonderful Christian young ladies that they have become.  Danny and Lee Ann, you have done a most fantastic job instilling a love of the Lord and raising them to be such outstanding young ladies.  They are amazing inside and out.  It’s amazing to look back at some the baby pictures of these girls and to see that they haven’t changed a bit, they only grew up.  I wish I could post more, but Lee Ann is telling me I’m driving her crazy.  She’s been waiting all afternoon to see her sneak peek.  Senior sneak peaks are extra special.  It’s almost like the unveiling of God’s marvelous work, the end to childhood, the beginning to adulthood and a new chapter of life.

Here’s a few pictures for your enjoyment.  I hope you giggle as I have!

You can already see that mischievous look gleaming in her eyes.  I would tell some really good stories, but I will refrain.  I will hold my tongue and save her some embarrassment.  LOL

She had no fear then and to this day she hasn’t found it yet.  Except she was questioning me about where I was making her sit the other day and was wondering about “critters.”  For real Ansley, this coming from you is hilarious.  After all, you have gone hunting, and traveled to foreign lands for mission work, and then you worry about critters?!   Still the drama sneaks out.

LOL I know Lee Ann you are pursing your lips at me right now!  Oh, how I know that look and I see it right through the screen.  As you say, “I can’t believe she posted this picture of me!”   Don’t worry, I’ll tag you too when they go to facebook!  Just because I love you though.

You’d never know this was her picture in between two year old and three year old preschool.  She didn’t grow hair until she was almost 4 and then when she did, she chose the worst time to decide and cut her own hair.  Maddie was only about 2 weeks old and it was Halloween and Ansley decided to go ahead and wack the hair that she had grown, right off.

I was hoping for one of these faces in her senior pictures.  Just one!

Oh darling Ansley.  This was before the time when non-posed pictures became all the rage; and actually letting your true colors show in the pictures.  We will just say, I was the pioneer in that idea!  LOL just kidding.  But with Ansley, every picture was and still is so very special and every picture shows the amazing, silly, happy-go-lucky, determined, persistent, and wonderful young lady that was inside.

And now- what 14-16 years later is like-  Boy, does that sound amazing.

Hello beautiful!  You are amazing. . .

Take a look a those shoes!  CHEEEETAAHHHHHHH  so very Ansley.  A little wild, a little quirky, a lot beautiful, and I love it how she is still the same Ansley as in the baby pictures above!  So much FUN!

I love you Spinks family!!
