Slacker

Posted on May 9, 2012

Yes, I feel like a slacker.  I haven’t blogged in FOUR months!  FOUR!!  That is lousy. I have no excuses except that I am a full time mommy to 3 lovely children who tend to from time to time drive me crazy, but I wouldn’t change anything about that! And I also homeschool my children, and as you know I am also a crazy photographer too, and so things get pushed to back burner sometimes.  I sometimes think I have too many hot irons in the fire, but then I think, well in my ADD mind, I can’t function unless I have 10 thousand things going on!  So, it is what it is.  I have tried to simplify and tried to be scheduled and so far, I’ve not succeeded in being those things.

Anyhow, I am working to be better at blogging consistently.  It is a challenge, and I shall be diligent in trying to keep up.  However, I am very ADD and if I should see something shiny, I may be inclined to go check it out!  LOL  I am working though to conquer this little flaw of mine.

SO, here’s to a ton more blogs soon to come!!

I had the honor of capturing some special pictures for the Beavers family last week!  I am SO SO behind with blogging and I am trying to catch up this week!  We went to the Lawrenceville Square to do this session and we had a great time!  Beavers I hope you love your pictures!

This is Grandma Beavers with her “Angel Puppy”  LuLu, who is just so SO precious and a wonderful little puppy model!

So, I’ve got these awesome neighbors. . .

Posted on April 12, 2011

Yeah, they are awesome.  They keep us laughing.  All the time.  Especially the little one, Kaira.  She has a contagious giggle.  She is my little shrimp peeler.  She likes to help me in the kitchen. They are all so very different.  Kaise is goofy, silly, nutty, very very thoughtful and a natural comedian.  He may even be a little con man.  Kai, he is quiet, very thoughtful, and always doing the right thing.  He watches out for his little brother and sister.  He is just a really really good kid.  His mom smirks at that, but I know he’s good.  It counts even more when you know that your kids are being good even when you aren’t around.  They are that kind of kids; unless they have me fooled.  ;-)  Mom and Dad, Leslie and Ed are also funny and great neighbors.  We enjoy hanging out with them and chatting.  I still have yet to witness them play Dance Party 2 on the Wii.  However, I hear they are REALLY good.  I am going to watch them play one night.  I will pass on participating because then I would be the entertainment, as I don’t have a rhythmic bone in my body.  All my parts rebel and want to move to other places than the ones I try to tell them to move to.  I look like a spastic little white girl with no rhythm what so ever!  So, take a look at their pictures. . . .

Totally captures them.  I hope they love them as much as I do.  We sure had fun taking them!

Now, don’t let this little bundle of cuteness and sugar fool you. . .

Because before you know it, this is what you get!  MISCHIEVOUS!!  But still cute!

That’s the meaning of family!

Sweet Babies and Autumn Colors

Posted on November 22, 2010

I had the honor of photographing the C family last weekend.  What a wonderful family and sweet sweet babies.  Unfortunately, little M wasn’t feeling up to par.  He was not so enthused to be taking pictures and would have rather been lying on the sofa watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Sweet baby H is just so very loveable and just delicious with eyes bluer that then sky.  Her eyes were a piercing and most fantastic blue, almost purple.  M and H’s parents were troopers and very patient as I was looking for the perfect shot.  I think we got some darn good shots considering M was not up to par and not up for my playing and silliness.  However, I couldn’t stop taking their pictures, M is so so very creamy and looks soft as a petal and like a porcelain doll.  It’s okay for me to say that for a few more years as he is only 2 years old, just a baby.  H is also like a porcelain doll.  She truly looks like one with her big round blue eyes and little rosebud mouth.  I can’t wait to one day get my camera back on these sweet babies!  C family, I hope you enjoy all of your pictures and I hope they are much more than what you thought they were going to be!  Thank you for choosing me to capture your family!

Look at this first picture- look at M’s eyes, you can see the love in his face he has for his baby sister, but doesn’t  yet know how to express it.  So sweet.

Cousins Galore

Posted on November 17, 2010

Yep, cousins galore!  All of them beautiful and all of them very very sweet. (Sorry A and A, you are very nice young gentlemen!)  What a stitch of a clan here, and to think that next year there will be one more added to the bunch, and you never know maybe even more!  This is just like my family.  There are soon to be 10 cousins in our family just like this one, as my sister-in-law just found out they are expecting another precious baby.  Boy is Christmas time fun!  This was a busy busy photo session, you can only imagine.  All I have to say is that the Daddy’s were all there too.  We all know how men are when it comes to pictures.  ;-)  Let’s just say, I felt just like part of them family on this session.  But, I like it that way.  ”The Nana” of this family grew up with and was and is still big buddies with my mom.  I know all of you M’s have been chomping at the bit for this sneak peek. . .you know who you are.  *wink wink*  Well, here they are, a few of them anyway.  I hope you love them and I hope this wet’s your whistle until I get the gallery loaded.  I do really appreciate your patience and I hope it was worth the wait!

From Way Back When. . .

Posted on November 3, 2010

I had this session a few weeks ago, and I must say it was kind of surreal.  No, I don’t think that is the right word, it was just well, here is the story. . .

Way back when, a long time ago when I was just a baby and on up to elementary age I used to know this kid whose initials were JF.  I heard his name all the time.  I can’t say I have any specific memory other than always knowing them.  I believe when JF and I were babies and a little older, our family and his family went to the mountains and other things like that together.  I vaguely remember him being at our house, the first house I ever remember.  Of course, I could be delusional on this memory and just think that I remember.  After elementary school, I really don’t have any memories of JF and I don’t even know if he went to the same middle school.  I do know we went to the same high school, but I really don’t even remember seeing him high school.  Again, I could have blocked out that since I hated high school.  JF’s dad and my dad worked together at UPS for years.  I heard their name often when his wife, JF’s wife that is; contacted me for pictures.  I told my parents about this JF that he was in my memory bank somewhere and I had to ask, how did we know them and why is his name and a few straggling memories of him floating around in my head.  Come to find out, yes as I said before, our Dad’s worked together.  I know this post seems to be rambling, but I will get to the point.

It was just almost weird to me that I was taking pictures of his baby and his wife and them as a family.  I was almost thinking wait, this guy is all grown up.  OH yeah, so am I.  I am married and I do have three silly children.  But to see him and know this was JF from my childhood; Someone who I think I saw quite often and someone whose name I heard regularly.  But in my head he was still the sandy haired kid that I somewhat remember.  It really is a weird feeling to see someone who you haven’t seen in years and then to realize, that they grew up too; and yes, that I too in fact was grown up as well.  It was just a surreal feeling and there was some kind of comfort too, just knowing that I’d known him since we were babies.  I really can’t put into words the way that this session made me feel.  I feel like I am tripping all over my own words and thoughts, and that kind of sums up my jumbled up memories of JF when we were so very young.

This is just a really cute family.  This baby T is also, way cute!!  He was such a good baby all morning.  He was a trooper and rarely fussed, and he had no problem being put down.  I really enjoyed this session and getting to know JF’s sweet wife P, and almost meeting JF all over again.  I hope that they love these pictures of sweet baby T.  You can just see and feel the love in this family and it was just so very sweet.  This was a very refreshing session!  JF, it was great to see you again and meet your sweet family.  I can’t wait to see the new wee little baby when he arrives in late winter of 2011.

And now the pictures-

Very Dear Friends

Posted on October 25, 2010

I was SO SO excited to be able to photograph C and A and their precious boy’s!!  C & C are too cute and so so very well-behaved.  We go back almost 10 years with this family as we all met in a young married sunday school class.  That class was just a blessing and we met some of the most wonderful people there. Tom(my husband), C and A all went to FSU, so there’s always big “Nole Talk.”  For some reason we were really sad when they moved away, however, they really didn’t move away they moved to another town about 45 minutes from where we all were, to begin with.  That must have been “small town” mentality that took over for a short time.  Because it’s really quite ridiculous. Unfortunately, the young married class we were in kind of fell apart, everyone went their separate ways.  We no longer go to the church where we all started out together and not many of us do.  Funny, how God takes you in different and unexpected directions; and then you realize why, and all is wonderful again, and God always makes sure that those special friends stay in your life.  The original group is scattered from Texas to Valdosta and various parts of Atlanta.  C and A have always been near and dear to our hearts and for a short time C and A and us lost touch.  Sometimes, just life gets in the way.  It’s no excuse, I know, but it happens.  Especially when everyone has 2 or three children.  Both A and I, are self employed and that really makes for a crazy BUSY life, but a blessed one for sure!  We both do what we love and still get to be Mommies full-time too.  Tom and I plan to start getting together with C and A at least once every 3 months for dinner and play time with the kiddo’s!

These kids are just beautiful and little C’s hair is so deliciously red that I want to eat it!  It is the most fabulous color of red ever!  I could take pictures of him all day!  A, has this awesome hair too, that I have always wanted.  I absolutely love it!  In fact, the whole family is just too pretty.  They look like a “magazine family.”  The kids are so so very sweet natured, which is SO much like A.  C, you are sweet natured too! But not in the same way as A. (Thank goodness. ;-)  I feel like I have rambled here, amongst my children running amuck and arguing because I am working, wanting this and that and interrupting my train of thought.  It’s getting to be that time of day- arsenic hour.   If you have small children you know what I mean!  So I will get to the pictures!

We love you C & A and Little C’s and Little bean on the way!

By the way- Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the honor of photographing your family and for your patience seeing your sneak peek.  This time of  year I am so busy and slammed I tread water for a while until I can get up my momentum to get ahead and caught up.  It’s definitely a blessing.

Showers of Rain Brings Showers of Giggles

Posted on September 21, 2010

This was by far a session that I thought would not take place on this day.  All looked fine and weather was sunny and HOT.  But, that quickly changed; and when I say quickly- WHOA!  It got dark, and darker.  The kids were all in the car, car was loaded, DVD on, kids buckled in and Dad in the drivers seat.  However, Mom- M, and I were in the house on the computer tracking a serious band of storms.  This session had been in the plans for literally almost a year!  The rain just couldn’t ruin these plans.  So, we sat and watched the band of storms coming right over on the computer screen as well as hearing the thunder in the distance!  MUD!!!  No pun intended, but this photoshoot just had to go on.  We decided to go ahead and make our way to the park where we were going to do the session.  It was raining SO hard that it was hard to see right in front of you.  I just figured, well, I guess we will do some “singing in the rain” pictures and jumping in puddles pictures.  But, as we pulled into the park the sun began to peek out.  So, off we went with our loads and loads and loads of stuff, toys, clothes, snacks, drinks, tractors, yes I did say tractors.  We were going to play.  And boy did we ever!

Man what a BLAST we had!  Or I did anyway.  This family was AWESOME, and so “wonderfully go with the flow” kinda fam.  So many other people would have just called the session off seeing the weather.  We had such a fun time, many many giggles, and lots of getting dirty in the wet grass, and mud.  What better though?  Muddy pictures of little boy’s are GREAT!  We actually didn’t get that many muddy pictures, but we did get a bunch of great shots.  I think that they captured these precious children’s personality perfectly.  They were so fun and great at “just being” and not being so posey.  I had a really hard time deciding what pictures to post because they are all so darn cute!  I went with the giggle theme!  I hope that M and M and their 4 C’s will treasure these memories forever.  I know that I will treasure the memories and our playtime and giggles as I was trying to capture the 4 C’s that only mom and dad know so very well!

And the grand finale!  SILLINESS!

Their faces just light up!
