Sweet Babies and Autumn Colors
Posted on November 22, 2010
I had the honor of photographing the C family last weekend. What a wonderful family and sweet sweet babies. Unfortunately, little M wasn’t feeling up to par. He was not so enthused to be taking pictures and would have rather been lying on the sofa watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Sweet baby H is just so very loveable and just delicious with eyes bluer that then sky. Her eyes were a piercing and most fantastic blue, almost purple. M and H’s parents were troopers and very patient as I was looking for the perfect shot. I think we got some darn good shots considering M was not up to par and not up for my playing and silliness. However, I couldn’t stop taking their pictures, M is so so very creamy and looks soft as a petal and like a porcelain doll. It’s okay for me to say that for a few more years as he is only 2 years old, just a baby. H is also like a porcelain doll. She truly looks like one with her big round blue eyes and little rosebud mouth. I can’t wait to one day get my camera back on these sweet babies! C family, I hope you enjoy all of your pictures and I hope they are much more than what you thought they were going to be! Thank you for choosing me to capture your family!
Look at this first picture- look at M’s eyes, you can see the love in his face he has for his baby sister, but doesn’t yet know how to express it. So sweet.
From Way Back When. . .

I had this session a few weeks ago, and I must say it was kind of surreal. No, I don’t think that is the right word, it was just well, here is the story. . .
Way back when, a long time ago when I was just a baby and on up to elementary age I used to know this kid whose initials were JF. I heard his name all the time. I can’t say I have any specific memory other than always knowing them. I believe when JF and I were babies and a little older, our family and his family went to the mountains and other things like that together. I vaguely remember him being at our house, the first house I ever remember. Of course, I could be delusional on this memory and just think that I remember. After elementary school, I really don’t have any memories of JF and I don’t even know if he went to the same middle school. I do know we went to the same high school, but I really don’t even remember seeing him high school. Again, I could have blocked out that since I hated high school. JF’s dad and my dad worked together at UPS for years. I heard their name often when his wife, JF’s wife that is; contacted me for pictures. I told my parents about this JF that he was in my memory bank somewhere and I had to ask, how did we know them and why is his name and a few straggling memories of him floating around in my head. Come to find out, yes as I said before, our Dad’s worked together. I know this post seems to be rambling, but I will get to the point.
It was just almost weird to me that I was taking pictures of his baby and his wife and them as a family. I was almost thinking wait, this guy is all grown up. OH yeah, so am I. I am married and I do have three silly children. But to see him and know this was JF from my childhood; Someone who I think I saw quite often and someone whose name I heard regularly. But in my head he was still the sandy haired kid that I somewhat remember. It really is a weird feeling to see someone who you haven’t seen in years and then to realize, that they grew up too; and yes, that I too in fact was grown up as well. It was just a surreal feeling and there was some kind of comfort too, just knowing that I’d known him since we were babies. I really can’t put into words the way that this session made me feel. I feel like I am tripping all over my own words and thoughts, and that kind of sums up my jumbled up memories of JF when we were so very young.
This is just a really cute family. This baby T is also, way cute!! He was such a good baby all morning. He was a trooper and rarely fussed, and he had no problem being put down. I really enjoyed this session and getting to know JF’s sweet wife P, and almost meeting JF all over again. I hope that they love these pictures of sweet baby T. You can just see and feel the love in this family and it was just so very sweet. This was a very refreshing session! JF, it was great to see you again and meet your sweet family. I can’t wait to see the new wee little baby when he arrives in late winter of 2011.
And now the pictures-
Very Dear Friends
Posted on October 25, 2010
I was SO SO excited to be able to photograph C and A and their precious boy’s!! C & C are too cute and so so very well-behaved. We go back almost 10 years with this family as we all met in a young married sunday school class. That class was just a blessing and we met some of the most wonderful people there. Tom(my husband), C and A all went to FSU, so there’s always big “Nole Talk.” For some reason we were really sad when they moved away, however, they really didn’t move away they moved to another town about 45 minutes from where we all were, to begin with. That must have been “small town” mentality that took over for a short time. Because it’s really quite ridiculous. Unfortunately, the young married class we were in kind of fell apart, everyone went their separate ways. We no longer go to the church where we all started out together and not many of us do. Funny, how God takes you in different and unexpected directions; and then you realize why, and all is wonderful again, and God always makes sure that those special friends stay in your life. The original group is scattered from Texas to Valdosta and various parts of Atlanta. C and A have always been near and dear to our hearts and for a short time C and A and us lost touch. Sometimes, just life gets in the way. It’s no excuse, I know, but it happens. Especially when everyone has 2 or three children. Both A and I, are self employed and that really makes for a crazy BUSY life, but a blessed one for sure! We both do what we love and still get to be Mommies full-time too. Tom and I plan to start getting together with C and A at least once every 3 months for dinner and play time with the kiddo’s!
These kids are just beautiful and little C’s hair is so deliciously red that I want to eat it! It is the most fabulous color of red ever! I could take pictures of him all day! A, has this awesome hair too, that I have always wanted. I absolutely love it! In fact, the whole family is just too pretty. They look like a “magazine family.” The kids are so so very sweet natured, which is SO much like A. C, you are sweet natured too! But not in the same way as A. (Thank goodness.
I feel like I have rambled here, amongst my children running amuck and arguing because I am working, wanting this and that and interrupting my train of thought. It’s getting to be that time of day- arsenic hour. If you have small children you know what I mean! So I will get to the pictures!
We love you C & A and Little C’s and Little bean on the way!
By the way- Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the honor of photographing your family and for your patience seeing your sneak peek. This time of year I am so busy and slammed I tread water for a while until I can get up my momentum to get ahead and caught up. It’s definitely a blessing.
10 lbs cuteness, 5 lbs energy, 10 lbs of love and 8 lbs curiosity= Sweet 3 year old A
Posted on October 22, 2010
Yes, that is the recipe for this incredibly precious little 3 year old A. She is about 30 pounds of all girl, all energy, all love, all curiosity for life, and all rolled into a package of cuteness. The love between this Mommy and little girl shows and glows in every picture! A bold kind of love that comes straight from God and straight from heart to heart. I connected with Mommy and Miss A immediately and we went on big adventures looking for bunnies, flowers, chickens, and all kinds of other treasures that we collected and put into a grocery bag that we snatched out the “It’s your Dooty” post at the park. We climbed fences, explored barns, a front porch, fields, and even an old yucky out house restored from the 1800′s; oh and she swang on a gate too! That was big fun! We had big adventures to go on and lots of magic leaves to put our hiney’s on. ;-) I was just tickled to get to know Mommy D and Miss A as they are certainly an extra special pair and I just love them! I certainly hope to have many more adventures with them like we had on this most fantastic day! I hope that I captured baby A just as Mommy sees her everyday in all her glory and zest for life and her love of adventure and contagious little or shall I say big spirit!
Here’s a peek from our adventures:
Red Sugar in Buford
Posted on October 7, 2010
So, I had the honor of photographing one our “Moe’s Friends” here recently. We seemed to always see them at Moe’s and my little girl took a strong liking to Red Sugar. They would make eye’s at each other and other times pretend they didn’t even see each other for a few seconds. I call him Red Sugar because he is just as sweet as sugar and funny; he almost “hit’s you like a sugar high” all energetic, animated, and very funny! Then all of sudden you realize, boy, am I tired! It was hotter than TWO H-E double hockey sticks on this day. I thought surely I was going to die from the heat. If I hadn’t been photographing such a precious boy, and been enjoying the session so much, then I probably surely would have died. We even trespassed and went on somebody’s beautiful property. Oh, it was so marvelous. It was shaded and breezy and just gorgeous. We decided to take some pictures there around their big front porch as well take an opportunity for an outfit change too. The owner of house came out and Red just felt compelled to run over and hug his knee and then proceeded to tell the man that he loved him. We hadn’t even broken anything! LOL But, I do believe it melted the man and he did say that it was perfectly fine that we were all up around his house and porch and petting his cat and basically exploring every nook and cranny we could find in his nice SHADED yard and porch. I really could take this little boy home with me. He would fit right in at my house as he is VERY MUCH like my three year old and my seven year old. They would all have a big time! So, Red was SO EASY to photograph because he didn’t have any problem “just being” and by saying that I mean by just being Red and having fun, playing and exploring like little boy’s of three years should do. Mom and Grandma were also great sports and tolerated the heat, and romping explorations, and playtime for almost 2 hours. We even enjoyed opening every mailbox slot we could find and stick our faces or noses in to get a burst of AC! LOL They were all positioned perfectly right at Red’s height, so I think we hit every one of them! I had a VERY hard time deciding which pictures to post for the sneak peek because there are so many good pictures that are priceless. When you look at these pictures you will see that Red Sugar was a good sport despite the flaming heat, and humidity and after a long day at preschool and play ball camp too. He was awesome! I hope that S and hubby(I didn’t get to meet him) and Grandma, love these pictures as much as I do; and I hope to be able to photograph him in the future; sooner rather than later! I think after looking at Mom’s facebook page we may have even gone to high school together! Small world! What great memories I have of this session and I hope that Red and his mom and grandma also have wonderful memories too!
What a nut!!
